Want to eat like a local? You’ve probably heard of “empanadas” but have you tried “patacón” and did you know that “bocadillo” in Colombia is not a sandwich? Join us on local food tour, a tasty walk through the cool residential area of Laureles where we try a variety of typical Colombian food & drinks at our favorite local places and provide some insight into the cultural context and traditions around each specialty. Restrictions: The tour includes pork, beef and dairy samples.

Local Food Tour

In this tour we will guide you through the neighborhood of Laureles, ranked by the TimeOut Magazine as the “Coolest neighborhood in the planet” in 2023. We will stop at some of our favorite local places to taste around 10 different Colombian snacks, dishes & drinks, including  fresh fruit salpicón, two types of arepa, patacón, chorizo,  chicharrón, grilled cheese, guandolo, bocadillo and either carimañola or empanada and buñuelo.

At each place, we will explain the tradition and cultural context behind each specialty. Along the way, we will make sure to point out some cool spots you can check out after the tour and provide you with some interesting facts about Laureles.

Value Added Tax in Colombia is 19%. According to Colombian law, a VAT tax exemption can be applied on touristic services for non-residents who provide (1) a copy of the main page of their passport, (2) a copy of the tourist entry stamp (types PIP-3, PIP-5, PIP-6, PIP-10 or visas TP-7, TP-11, TP-12). Therefore, if after booking and before taking the tour you send us the required copies using the form given during booking, we can apply the exemption and charge you the price excluding VAT. Ending Point

Depending on the day, the tour ends at either Segundo Parque de Laureles or Carrera 70 — both in Laureles.
